Caller Video Always On During Directory Calls

What changed: In a directory video call, the person who places the call now always shares their camera, so whoever answers can immediately see who’s calling at the gate. The person answering is the only side with a video on/off control — they start with their camera off and can turn it on (and back off) whenever they like during the call.

Where to find it: Start a video call from a community directory listing (the caller’s view), or answer an incoming directory call (the answerer’s view).

What you’ll see: As the caller, your camera turns on automatically when the call connects and there’s no button to turn it off — just mute and hang-up controls. As the answerer, your video starts off with a “Turn on Video” button, and once on you get a small control to turn it back off.

What you need to do: No action needed.

A Helpful Screen for Tags That Aren’t Set Up Yet

What changed: Tapping a Nimbio NFC tag that hasn’t been linked to a gate yet now opens a clear, helpful screen instead of a dead-end error. The screen gives you a way to get the tag set up — either yourself (if you manage or installed the gate) or by sending the details to support.

Where to find it: Tap an unassigned tag with your phone; the screen appears in GuestView automatically.

What you’ll see: A short message explaining the tag isn’t set up yet, the tag’s serial, and two buttons: “Assign this tag” (for community managers and installers, opens the assignment wizard) and “Copy tag info for support” (copies the tag’s details to your clipboard so you can text or email them to a Nimbio agent for setup).

What you need to do: If you manage or installed the gate, tap “Assign this tag” and follow the wizard. Otherwise, tap “Copy tag info for support” and send the details to Nimbio.

Smoother Reconnect After a Pause

What changed: GuestView now recovers more smoothly from network interruptions and from being left idle in a browser tab. Quick reconnects happen silently in the background instead of flashing a “Reconnecting” dialog. When a visitor reopens a GuestView tab that has been backgrounded for more than two minutes, the app quietly checks the connection and refreshes it if needed; after ten minutes idle, it forces a clean reconnect right away so the page is responsive immediately.

Where to find it: Anywhere in GuestView — directory listings, short-code redirects, the login flow, the Open dialog, and the shipping address form. This is a behind-the-scenes change to how GuestView stays connected to Nimbio.

What you’ll see: Fewer momentary “Reconnecting” flashes when your network briefly drops. Reopening GuestView after stepping away no longer leaves the page sitting unresponsive while it figures out the connection is stale.

What you need to do: No action needed.
