How does delivery driver access work with Nimbio?

Couriers never need the Nimbio app or an account. A quick QR scan or NFC tap at the gate gives them one of two no-app ways in.

For: Residents Category: GuestView & Delivery

Two ways a driver gets through the gate

Both start the same way: the driver scans the QR code or taps the NFC tag at the gate. That opens the Nimbio web directory right in their phone’s browser — no app, no account, no registration.

GuestView live answer

GuestView texts your phone a link to a live video call — tap it to see the driver and open the gate remotely, from anywhere in the world. It’s one-way by default (the driver never sees you), or two-way if you turn on your own camera.

Time-limited access code

Before the delivery, generate a unique code in the Nimbio app and share it with the courier. At the gate, they enter it right in the web directory that opened in their browser. The gate opens, entry is logged, and the code expires automatically.

Setting a courier up in advance

Do this before the delivery is expected, so the driver has guaranteed access even if you’re unreachable when they arrive.

1

Generate a time-limited access code

In the Nimbio app, create a unique code ahead of the delivery window.

2

Share the code with the courier

Send it however’s easiest — text, delivery notes, or directly to the driver.

3

Driver scans and enters the code

At the gate, they scan the QR code or tap the NFC tag, which opens the Nimbio web directory in their browser, and enter the code there. The gate opens and the code expires automatically after use.

Missed a GuestView call? If you don’t answer, the driver sees an on-screen message at the gate. A pre-shared access code is the more reliable option if you know you’ll be unreachable during the delivery window.

Is every delivery entry logged?

Yes. Every gate open event — including GuestView admits and access code uses — is recorded in the access log with a timestamp. Residents can review the last 7 days from the app; property managers can query any 2-week window on demand from the Access Logs screen. For a longer date range, email [email protected] and Nimbio can pull it for you.

Frequently asked questions

Do delivery drivers need to download the Nimbio app? +

No. Drivers need no app, no account, and no registration. Scanning the QR code or tapping the NFC tag opens the Nimbio web directory right in their phone’s browser — from there they can request a GuestView video call (the resident’s tap answers it) or enter an access code. There is no keypad hardware involved.

What if I’m not home and miss the GuestView call? +

The driver sees an on-screen message. You can also proactively share a time-limited access code before the delivery so the courier has guaranteed access even if you’re unreachable.

Are delivery entries logged? +

Yes. Every gate open event — including GuestView admits and access code uses — is recorded in the access log with a timestamp, viewable in the app or the Cloud Portal.
