How do I set up a Scan-to-Enter QR sign for GuestView?
A Short Code turns into a printable “Scan to Enter” QR sign for your gate — visitors scan it with their phone’s camera to reach the GuestView directory. No NFC hardware involved.
Short Codes vs. NFC tags
A Short Code is a printable QR sign a visitor scans with their phone’s camera — no app, no tap, no special hardware. It’s a completely separate feature from an NFC tap-to-enter tag, which uses a physical chip mounted at the gate. Both lead to the same place: your community’s GuestView directory.
Creating a Short Code
From the Community Manager portal, before printing a sign for the gate.
Open the GuestView page
In the app, tap the Admin tab, then the menu icon (the three lines, top left), and open GuestView, then Short Codes. On a desktop, log into community.nimbio.com and go to Community Manager › [Your Community] › GuestView › Short Codes.
Add a new Short Code
Select the gate this sign will serve. The code itself is generated by the system — there’s no field to type a custom code.
Print the QR sign
Your new Short Code appears in the list with a printable “Scan to Enter” QR sign. Print it and post it at the gate or callbox.
GuestView must be enabled first. If it isn’t already, go to Community Manager › [Your Community] › Members and turn on “Allow directory viewing.”
What a visitor sees
Scanning the QR sign with a phone camera opens the community’s GuestView directory in a browser — no app or login required to browse it. From there, a visitor can look up a resident or home and send a call request — the resident gets a text, and their tap is what starts the video call — the same directory experience as any other GuestView entry point.
