How do I set up NFC tap-to-enter for GuestView?
A Nimbio NFC tag mounted at your gate lets visitors tap their phone to reach the GuestView directory. Tags are professionally programmed and installed — there’s no DIY setup step.
Before you begin
- Nimbio controller installed, powered on, showing a solid LED
- GuestView enabled for your community — Community Manager › [Your Community] › Members › “Allow directory viewing”
- A Nimbio NFC tag for the gate — request one through your installer or Nimbio support if you don’t have one yet
How an NFC tag gets set up
There’s no DIY programming step — Nimbio’s NFC tags use a crypto-authenticated chip (NTAG 424 DNA) that’s professionally programmed before it reaches your gate.
Request a tag
Contact your installer or Nimbio support to get an NFC tag programmed for your gate.
Your installer mounts it
The tag is placed on a flat, visible surface at phone height at the entry point — usually on or near a callbox. Bare metal blocks the NFC signal, so a metal panel needs plastic housing or an anti-metal spacer.
What happens when someone taps the tag
Unlock your phone and hold it against the tag for 1–2 seconds. If you’re signed in and hold a key to that gate, it opens automatically. Otherwise, you’ll see a prompt to sign in and open it yourself, or view the community directory to reach a resident instead.
