Do we need Wi-Fi or a phone line at the gate?
No. The Nimbio controller connects over a pre-installed multi-carrier SIM that dynamically picks the strongest available tower across AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The SIM works internationally too — international customers should contact us to confirm which networks are supported in their region. There is no landline bill and no dependency on neighborhood internet.
Can residents keep using their existing clickers and remotes?
Yes. Nimbio wires in parallel to the gate operator, so existing clickers, fobs, and keypads keep working alongside the app. The community can migrate to digital keys at its own pace — there is no forced cutover, which matters when adoption has to work for every household.
Does Nimbio work with our existing gate opener brand?

How do landscapers and service vendors get in?
Residents generate Access Codes for their own regulars — dog walkers, housekeepers, service workers — directly from the app, and revoke them just as easily. Every code use is logged with its status (Opened, Invalid, Expired, or Disabled), so the board can always see how the gate is actually being used.
Our community has more than one gate. How does that work?
Each Nimbio controller handles one gate or door relay — a front gate, back gate, and pool gate would use three controllers. Billing stays per home: additional gates are covered for each home’s flat monthly rate.
Is a smartphone app secure enough for a neighborhood gate?
Nimbio uses SSL/TLS encryption over cellular LTE, hosted on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. Because access runs over cellular rather than local Wi-Fi, it is not exposed to the network-sniffing attacks Wi-Fi-based systems face.
