How do I revoke a resident’s access or disable a shared key?
Revoking a resident and disabling a shared key are two different actions — one removes an entire member account, the other turns off a single key. Here’s how each works, and when to use which.
Two different actions — don’t confuse them
Revoking removes a whole resident’s account — an administrator action. Disabling turns off one specific shared key — something a resident can do themselves for keys they created, no admin needed.
Revoking a resident
Removes the resident’s Master Key and their entire account from the property — an administrator action, done in the Community Manager portal.
Disabling a shared key
Turns off one specific key a resident shared with a family member, guest, or service provider — done by the resident themselves, no admin action required.
Revoking a resident’s access (Administrators)
Tap the Admin tab in the app, then tap the menu icon (the three lines, top left) to open the Members list. (You can also log into community.nimbio.com on a desktop or any web browser.)
Find the resident in your Approved list
Locate the resident’s account in your property’s “Approved” list.
Open the resident’s account
Click on the resident’s account to open it.
Tap Remove Member / Revoke
Tap the purple Remove Member (or red Revoke) button in the pop-up modal. The resident moves to the “Removed” list.
The moment you revoke a resident, their app loses gate access immediately — including any keys they had issued to family, guests, or service providers under their account. Because a shared key is a new digital key minted on the recipient’s own account rather than a copy, revoking the resident’s Master Key cuts off every key in that chain at once, across every device. Nothing physical needs to be collected.
Disabling a shared key (Residents)
A resident can disable a key they shared themselves — no admin needed.
Go to Sharing
Tap Sharing in the bottom navigation bar.
Select the specific key
Find and tap the shared key you want to turn off.
Toggle Key Enabled off
Toggle the Key Enabled switch off to instantly disable it.
