How do I manage GuestView as a resident?
Control how you show up in the visitor directory, hand out access codes for hands-off entry, and answer visitor video calls from anywhere.
Controlling how you appear in the directory
Open Directory Preferences
Tap the avatar icon in the header to open your Profile, then go to My Communities › [Your Community] › Directory Preferences.
Choose what visitors see
Opt out to remove yourself from the public directory entirely, or set a custom display name to swap the default “First Initial. Last Name” for a unit number, property name, or nickname.
Creating access codes for guests
Time-limited, hands-off entry — no call required.
Open Access Code Management
Go to Profile › My Communities › [Your Community] › Access Code Management.
Create the code
Use letters, numbers, and spaces. Choose which gate or door it opens, and optionally set an expiration date or specific valid hours.
Share it with your guest
Give the code to your guest however you like. At the gate, they scan the QR code, find your name in the directory in their own browser, and enter the code next to your name — the gate opens instantly, no app or account needed on their end.
Disabling vs. deleting a code: disabling is reversible and temporarily stops a code from working; deleting removes it for good. If you’re not completely sure a visitor won’t need their code again, it’s always safer to disable it instead of deleting it.
Answering a visitor’s video call
If a visitor doesn’t have a code, they can call you instead. You’ll get a text message with a link to answer, from anywhere in the world, not just at home. Tap the link to see the visitor’s live video feed in your browser, then tap the open button to let them in.
If you don’t answer, the call times out — the visitor can retry, or use an access code instead if you’ve given them one.
Number-Verified Access: if your community manager has enabled it for your gate, a visitor with no code can also verify their own phone number and let themselves in without calling you. There’s nothing for you to set up — it’s controlled entirely from the community manager’s dashboard.
What can your property manager or admin see?
They can see the codes you’ve created and the audit log of gate activity, for security. They cannot see your personal contact list, or who you’ve shared a code with.
