Wiring guide: All-O-Matic Toro 24

This guide shows where each wire from the Nimbio terminal strip lands on the All-O-Matic Toro 24’s control board, and which relay setting Gate Status needs. Gate Status: wired. Sense 2 and SC connect across the board’s RELAY-1 contact, set to report the gate fully open, and Nimbio maps the relay’s two states to the labels shown in the app.

Before you start

  • Power the operator down at its supply before touching any terminal.
  • The Nimbio terminal strip has eight terminals: PWR+, PWR-, Sense 2, SC, Sense 1, NC, C and NO. This guide wires Sense 2 and SC; Sense 1 is not used (see “Connections”).
  • Power: PWR+ and PWR- land on the board’s +24VDC and GROUND terminals, rated up to 500 mA for accessories. The Nimbio board draws 40 to 70 mA.
  • You need a small screwdriver for the terminal screws.

Settings on the operator

The RELAY-1 contact’s behavior is chosen from the Toro 24’s LCD menu. This guide sets it to OPENED SIGNAL: active when the gate is fully open (CLOSED SIGNAL is the alternative). Confirm the setting for your site with Nimbio support during installation.

Gate Status

Gate Status: wired. Sense 2 and SC connect across the RELAY-1 contact, set to OPENED SIGNAL: active when the gate is fully open. Nimbio maps the relay’s two states to the labels shown in the app. Sense-line polarity does not depend on the wiring. Nimbio maps each sense line’s triggered and untriggered state to an Open or Closed label after installation. If Gate Status shows the opposite of the physical gate, contact Nimbio support to have the labels switched; no rewiring is needed.

No suitable output on your operator? A magnetic gate switch can report the gate’s position instead: wire its two leads to Sense 1 and SC for fully closed, or to Sense 2 and SC for fully open. The switch must be a dry contact that puts out no power of its own; if yours puts out power, add a relay that turns it into a dry contact.

Frequently asked questions

Does the All-O-Matic Toro 24 need an expansion board for Gate Status? +

No. Sense 2 and SC land on the RELAY-1 contact of the main Toro 24 control board.

Which Nimbio terminals open the gate on the All-O-Matic Toro 24? +

NO and C, wired to EXIT and COMMON. The Nimbio relay closes NO to C, which the Toro 24 reads as an open command.

Can the Nimbio be powered from the All-O-Matic Toro 24 board? +

Yes. PWR+ and PWR- land on the board’s +24VDC and GROUND terminals, which the Toro 24 manual rates at up to 500 mA for accessories. The Nimbio board draws 40 to 70 mA.

Is the Nimbio NC terminal used on the All-O-Matic Toro 24? +

No. The operator input takes the NO and C pair, so NC stays empty.
