Wiring guide: Nice Apollo 835/836

This guide shows where each wire from the Nimbio terminal strip lands on the Nice Apollo 835/836 gate control board. Gate Status: not wired in this guide. The board has a Master Operator Indicator output, but it is a voltage output rather than a dry contact, so this guide does not wire Sense 1, Sense 2, SC or NC.

Note: This operator cannot supply enough continuous power for Nimbio. Use a separate 12–24V AC or DC power supply.

Before you start

  • Power the operator down at its supply before touching any terminal.
  • The Nimbio terminal strip has eight terminals: PWR+, PWR-, Sense 2, SC, Sense 1, NC, C and NO. This guide wires PWR+, PWR-, C and NO; the other four stay empty.
  • Power: PWR+ and PWR- go to a separate power supply, not the operator board. The 835/836’s 12V terminal tracks the operator’s battery rather than being a stable accessory output. The Nimbio accepts 6.5 to 24 V AC or DC.
  • You need a small screwdriver for the terminal screws.

Give the Nimbio its own power supply. Sense-line polarity does not depend on the wiring. Nimbio maps each sense line’s triggered and untriggered state to an Open or Closed label after installation. If Gate Status shows the opposite of the physical gate, contact Nimbio support to have the labels switched; no rewiring is needed. Settings on the operator

No operator setting is changed by this guide.

Gate Status

Gate Status: not wired in this guide. The 835/836 board’s Master Operator Indicator switches between +12 V and ground depending on the gate’s closed-limit position, but that is a voltage output, not a dry contact, so the Nimbio’s sense lines are not connected to it here. Contact Nimbio support if your installation needs Gate Status wired for this operator.

Frequently asked questions

Does this guide give Gate Status on the Nice Apollo 835/836? +

No. The board’s position output is a voltage signal rather than a dry contact, so it is not wired here. Contact Nimbio support if you need Gate Status on this gate.

Which Nimbio terminals open the gate on the Nice Apollo 835/836? +

NO and C, wired to FREE EXIT (terminal 10) and GND (terminal 8). The Nimbio relay closes NO to C, which the 835/836 reads as an open command.

Is the Nimbio NC terminal used on the Nice Apollo 835/836? +

No. The operator input takes the NO and C pair, so NC stays empty.
