Wiring guide: HySecurity SlideSmart DC
This guide shows where each wire from the Nimbio terminal strip lands on the HySecurity SlideSmart DC’s Smart DC Controller, and which relay function to program. Gate Status: wired. Sense 2 and SC connect to the controller’s USER RELAY 1, programmed to report the gate’s open limit, and Nimbio maps the relay’s two states to the labels shown in the app.
Before you start
- Power the operator down at its supply before touching any terminal.
- The Nimbio terminal strip has eight terminals: PWR+, PWR-, Sense 2, SC, Sense 1, NC, C and NO. This guide wires Sense 2 and SC; Sense 1 is not used (see “Connections”).
- Power: PWR+ lands on the Smart DC Controller’s 24VDC peripheral-power terminal (rated 1 A across four terminals) and PWR- lands on a COM terminal on the same strip. The Nimbio board draws 40 to 70 mA, well inside the 1 A budget.
- You need a small screwdriver for the terminal screws.
Connections
| Nimbio terminal | Operator terminal | Number | Board | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PWR+ | 24VDC 1 AMP MAX | — | Smart DC Controller | 24VDC peripheral-power terminal, rated 1 A across four terminals. |
| PWR- | COM | — | Smart DC Controller | |
| Sense 2 | USER RELAY 1 NO | — | Smart DC Controller | Onboard relay, programmed to report the gate’s open limit. |
| SC | USER RELAY 1 COM | — | Smart DC Controller | Sense common; the other side of the relay contact from Sense 2. |
| Sense 1 | Not used | — | — | Not used. One relay reports one state; Sense 2 and SC are the complete connection. |
| NC | Not used | — | — | Not used: the operator input is wired to NO and C. |
| C | COM | — | Smart DC Controller | A separate COM terminal from PWR-. |
| NO | RADIO OPEN | — | Smart DC Controller | Remote/radio open input. |

When the wiring is done, restore power at the supply. A Nimbio support team member then calls to test the gate before you close the panel.
Settings on the operator
USER RELAY 1 is programmed in the Installer Menu (RL 1) to function 3, “Open limit output,” so it closes when the gate reaches the open limit. Confirm the setting for your site with Nimbio support during installation.
Gate Status
Gate Status: wired. Sense 2 and SC connect to USER RELAY 1, an onboard relay set to report the gate’s open limit. The relay closes when the gate reaches the open limit, and Nimbio maps its two states to the labels shown in the app. Sense-line polarity does not depend on the wiring. Nimbio maps each sense line’s triggered and untriggered state to an Open or Closed label after installation. If Gate Status shows the opposite of the physical gate, contact Nimbio support to have the labels switched; no rewiring is needed.
No suitable output on your operator? A magnetic gate switch can report the gate’s position instead: wire its two leads to Sense 1 and SC for fully closed, or to Sense 2 and SC for fully open. The switch must be a dry contact that puts out no power of its own; if yours puts out power, add a relay that turns it into a dry contact.
