Wiring guide: LiftMaster CSW200UL and CSW24UL

This guide shows where each wire from the Nimbio terminal strip lands on the LiftMaster CSW200UL and CSW24UL’s main control board, and which expansion-board setting Gate Status needs. Gate Status: needs the expansion board. Sense 2 and SC connect to the expansion board’s AUX RELAY 1, set to report the gate’s open limit, and Nimbio maps the relay’s two states to the labels shown in the app.

Note: This operator cannot supply enough continuous power for Nimbio. Use a separate 12–24V AC or DC power supply.

Before you start

  • Power the operator down at its supply before touching any terminal.
  • The Nimbio terminal strip has eight terminals: PWR+, PWR-, Sense 2, SC, Sense 1, NC, C and NO. This guide wires Sense 2 and SC; Sense 1 is not used (see “Connections”).
  • Power: PWR+ and PWR- go to a separate 12-24 V AC or DC power supply, not to the operator board. The board’s accessory output is rated 500 mA, but Nimbio installations powered from this board have had unstable power. The Nimbio board draws 40 to 70 mA.
  • You need a small screwdriver for the terminal screws.

Nimbio maps each sense line’s triggered and untriggered state to an Open or Closed label after installation. If Gate Status shows the opposite of the physical gate, contact Nimbio support to have the labels switched; no rewiring is needed. When the wiring is done, restore power at the supply. A Nimbio support team member then calls to test the gate before you close the panel.

Settings on the operator

The expansion board’s AUX RELAY 1 is set with three switches to Off, Off, On — Open Limit Switch — so it energizes when the gate reaches the open limit. Confirm the setting for your site with Nimbio support during installation.

Gate Status

Gate Status: needs the expansion board. Sense 2 and SC connect to the expansion board’s AUX RELAY 1 (N.O. and COM), set to Open Limit Switch. The relay energizes when the gate reaches the open limit, and Nimbio maps its two states to the labels shown in the app. Sense-line polarity does not depend on the wiring. Nimbio maps each sense line’s triggered and untriggered state to an Open or Closed label after installation. If Gate Status shows the opposite of the physical gate, contact Nimbio support to have the labels switched; no rewiring is needed.

No suitable output on your operator? A magnetic gate switch can report the gate’s position instead: wire its two leads to Sense 1 and SC for fully closed, or to Sense 2 and SC for fully open. The switch must be a dry contact that puts out no power of its own; if yours puts out power, add a relay that turns it into a dry contact.

Frequently asked questions

Does the LiftMaster CSW200UL and CSW24UL need an expansion board for Gate Status? +

Yes. Sense 2 and SC land on the expansion board’s AUX RELAY 1, not on the main control board.

Which Nimbio terminals open the gate on the LiftMaster CSW200UL and CSW24UL? +

NO and C, wired to the Exit input on the main control board. The Nimbio relay closes NO to C, which the operator reads as a soft open command.

Why is Sense 1 not used on the LiftMaster CSW200UL and CSW24UL? +

AUX RELAY 1 is one relay with one state, set to report the gate’s open limit. Sense 2 and SC across it is the complete connection; a second sense line on the same relay would only mirror the first.

Is the Nimbio NC terminal used on the LiftMaster CSW200UL and CSW24UL? +

No. The operator input takes the NO and C pair, so NC stays empty.

Does this guide apply to both the CSW200UL and the CSW24UL? +

Yes. Both models share this main control board family and terminal layout.
